Welcome to my academic website! I am Oscar Cartagena, a researcher and academic in the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Chile. My research sits at the intersection of advanced control theory, computational intelligence, and sustainable energy systems. I am passionate about developing robust predictive control strategies, evolving fuzzy systems, and machine learning models to solve complex engineering problems in dynamic, uncertain, and nonstationary environments.

Over the years, I have applied these methodologies to a wide array of practical challenges, including the coordination and management of integrated energy-water-food microgrids, smartport electrification, green hydrogen systems, and energy efficiency in HVAC systems and greenhouses. Through my research, which spans fuzzy interval modeling, predictive control, and deep learning-based forecasting, I aim to drive technological innovations that support sustainable development and resource optimization.
